Biography

Richard Lloyd (FGS; FIMMM)

Richard (48) is a qualified Mining Geologist (BSc Hons & MSc from The Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London), spending the early part of his career in gold and copper exploration, mine development (Avocet Mining) and production (AngloGold).


Since 1998 he has worked in Investment Banking and risk gaining significant experience in Natural Resources and associated Infrastructure. Over a 20+-year banking career including M&A, Corporate Finance Advisory and Relationship Management with many of the global metals and mining companies, he has gained a detailed knowledge of the risks inherent to the industry, the development of projects and the solutions and financeability therein.

Richard has been developing disruptive financing solutions for the industry filling a gap in the traditional forms of financing. He is currently the CEO of Minexia www.minexia.com which provides an online mining finance / project funding platform “NR Private Market” – www.nrprivatemarket.com. As a private consultant he also provides Project Finance structuring advice to the industry on an ad hoc basis.


He is also an independent non-executive director of Panamanian gold company, Veragold Mining Inc (Private) and London listed All Star Minerals PLC. Richard is a Fellow of both the Geological Society and Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.
